Unzip the download and open Babatol Clip/Babatol Clip.exe as your normal user. No installer or administrator privileges needed.
This is an unsigned portable executable. Windows may show a security warning; no security changes are recommended.
A little app, not an ecosystem.
Clip keeps your last five completed clips. Copy a keeper elsewhere. Right-click the tray → Settings to pick your shortcut or opt in to Start with Windows (off by default).
Source, build instructions, and native checks live in the optional For agents folder, with a separate source download too. No editor, cloud, accounts, uploads, or telemetry.
Compatibility & useful limits
Windows 10 (2004+) or Windows 11, x64. Capture one unrotated monitor per selection, in SDR. Requires a D3D11-capable display driver and Windows Media Foundation; Windows N needs the Media Feature Pack. Silent H.264 MP4 only.
File paste depends on the receiving app. WhatsApp, X, and browser composers are not guaranteed to accept it; attach or drag the saved MP4 instead. HDR, protected content, remote sessions, and elevated apps are not supported or guaranteed.
If you enable startup, keep the EXE in place. Before moving it, disable startup and Save, move the file, then re-enable. See the included README for full details.
About this release
v0.4.3 gives Settings its own B-branded taskbar window, preserves Alt-Tab while choosing a shortcut, and makes completed clip paths accessible to other desktop apps. Existing settings and recordings stay in place.
Verified on Windows 11: native settings tests, real taskbar and tray interactions, Alt-Tab, shortcut Save and process restart, startup ownership, recording, and an external file-clipboard consumer. The captured MP4 and its external copy decoded successfully. Next-login startup, extra display scales, and messenger compose previews have not been exercised.
The ZIP is byte-for-byte the native-tested candidate. Bundled candidate notes retain their build-time status; the verification above describes this release. Source, build files, and tests match that build. Checksums identify downloads, not a code-signing certificate. Previous v0.3 download.
